Singapore’s New Breed Of Upscale Hotel Lounges Is Typified By Swissôtel The Stamford, Where Breathtaking Views Are Supported By Top-Grade Audio
Strategically located in the heart of Singapore, Swissôtel The Stamford is a luxury hotel that boasts a prime location within business, cultural, shopping and entertainment areas. As Southeast Asia’s tallest hotel, Swissôtel The Stamford offers panoramic views of Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. And when Singapore hosted its first Formula 1 Grand Prix— Asia’s first night-time street race—in September, the hotel offered one of the prime frontages.
The hotel offers a deluxe range of guest rooms and luxurious suites with a wealth of amenities. Its leisure facilities include Asia’s largest spa, Willow Stream Spa. The hotel also features a range of exquisite restaurants and lounges, gourmet specialties, two outdoor swimming pools, six tennis courts and a fitness club.
The showpiece venue at Swissôtel The Stamford’s Equinox Complex, New Asia spans two floors and offers guests an eclectic selection of music.) menu. There are several venues here, but the most striking is New Asia, a split-level lounge, restaurant, and nightclub that has been totally revamped.
New Asia’s interior design boasts an impeccably modern color scheme of amber, brown and gold, with lavish decorations including an incandescent chandelier custom-designed and fitted for the space, together with an array of moving-head lighting effects created by fixtures installed within the lounge’s window frames.
If customers’ eyes are in for a treat, their ears have not been forgotten—thanks to an audio installation completed by local company Lingtec under the supervision of DAS Audio engineer Joan La Roda, who travelled specially from the loudspeaker manufacturer’s Spanish headquarters to oversee the project.
Guests at the revamped New Asia enjoy brilliant lighting effects inside and spectacular views outside. with CA-215 Aero subwoofers. For the lower SPLs required in the venue’s bar and VIP lounge areas, six of DAS Audio’s Artec 8 and six Artec 26 speakers have been installed, augmented with two Sub-15P and two Sub-12Fs for the bottom end. The recently introduced Artec series has been specifically designed to blend in aesthetically with modern interior designs— of which New Asia is a prime example—without any compromise in audio bandwidth, dynamics, or energy levels.
Bandwidth and dynamics are particularly important because New Asia, thanks to the eclectic taste of resident DJ Redz, plays a wide range of music including funk, house music, electro, and even new age. Aiden Macaulay, General Manager of Swissôtel The Stamford and Regional VP, Asia Pacific, Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, is delighted with the performance of the new sound system so far.
