Magenta Research, a provider of video, audio and control signal distribution and switching over Cat5/CatX cable and optical fiber, has announced that Dan Smith has been appointed national sales manager.
Dan will lead the internal sales organization and Magenta field representatives to maximize Magenta revenues in the United States. Prior to joining Magenta, Dan was national sales manager for the Information Technology Division of Samsung and previously worked for Tech Data. Mr. Smith has extensive experiences in the Pro AV segment with an intimate knowledge of the sales channels and existing relationships with many of the recognized industry sales representatives, dealers, integrators and consultants.

Magenta Research provides adaptive distribution and switching of video/audio/control signals over CatX cable, DVI over fiber and/or Cat6 and, more recently, HDMI over Cat6. For over 10 years, Magenta has developed flexible video-over-CatX products, the MultiView Series.
