IRVINE, CA--VIZIO's LCD HDTV models that are shipping now to U.S. and Canadian retailers meet or exceed Energy Star 3.0 requirements. VIZIO, the company that manufactures one of America’s most popular brands of flat panel HDTVs, is committed to the best value and performance for their customers.
The VIZIO HDTV philosophy remains simple, “We maintain our commitment to outstanding video performance while helping LCD HDTV consumers save energy,” stated Ken Lowe, vice president and co-founder of VIZIO.
All VIZIO LCD HDTVs meet Energy Star 3.0 requirements for lower energy consumption, with at least nine models exceeding them by as much as 25 percent -- good news for both the environment and value-conscious consumers. In addition, all VIZIO’s HDTVs are RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant. The RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC restricts the use of six hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products.
In terms of energy consumption, VIZIO is proud to confirm 100 percent of VIZIO’s popular 22 inch-class and new 19 inch-class models use much less energy than a conventional 60Watt light bulb.
VIZIO is also announcing the launch of a new 32 inch-class “EcoHD” LCD HDTV which uses 44 percent less energy than a typical 32 inch-class LCD HDTV. VIZIO consumers will save energy while enjoying high performance with a 12,500:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, SRS TruSurround XT Audio, and Multiple HDMI Inputs -- all wrapped in a stylish white piano colored bezel for the truly design savvy consumer. All this begged Laynie Newsome, VIZIO VP Sales and Marketing Communications to ask, “Who says saving energy can’t be cool?” The MSRP for the EcoHD is $499.99 and can be found online later this month at vizio.com, and with select retailers like Sam’s Club.com, DELL.com, Costco.com, Target.com and Wal-Mart.com.
