- RICHARDSON, TX--AMX announced that their systems and devices are controllable by the soon to be released Apple iPad. AMX currently supports integration with Apple, Blackberry, Android-based and Windows-based technologies. AMX is committed to providing its partners with the tools to integrate any technology end users desire.
AMX currently offers integration technology that communicates both directions – Apple to AMX and AMX to Apple. AMX offers two applications, one pre-designed and one customizable interface for using products like the Apple iPad to control an AMX system. Similarly, AMX offers applications that allow AMX technology to control music or video on Apple devices like the iPod and Apple TV®. According to Apple, existing integration applications will run on the iPad, so the existing AMX tools for the iPod/iPhone are expected to work on the iPad upon its release. Nothing new will be required to integrate the iPad.
“AMX continues to champion a standards-based philosophy that simplifies technology integration, offers end users more choices and expands automation technology awareness,” commented Robert Noble, AMX, chief technology officer. “We currently support the integration of most PC’s, netbooks and tablets using browsers like Windows Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari. AMX also supports smart devices like cell phones that utilize Android, Apple OS, Blackberry and Windows Mobile technologies; MP3 players and future connected devices that use web browsers and/or VNC applications.”
AMX is founded on the advantages of touch-based user interfaces as an intuitive, natural method for system control and automation. Since 2002, Modero touch panels from AMX have delivered superior functionality specifically engineered for control system integration, offering certain advantages like ease of integration, advanced wireless security, come in a variety of form factors and are optimized to provide a high quality automation experience.
