OLD LYME, CT--Sennheiser is pleased to announce the expansion of its popular Sound Academy seminars to also include the new Installed Sound Academy. The seminar series, which began in 2006 with courses focusing on RF wireless techniques and studio recording tips and tricks, is being re-launched with additional courses, more instructors and a new price.
The Sennheiser Installed Sound Academy will comprise two seminars, one for consultants, contractors and designers, and the other for technicians and operators, on consecutive days at each location. The courses were developed and will be instructed by Sennheiser's David McNutt, Kent Margraves, Joe Ciaudelli and Klein + Hummel Product Developer Dave Theis.
The program for Day One is designed for contractors, consultants and designers, and seminar offers 7.5 renewal credits toward CTS re-certification. Attendees will be able to learn or refresh their skills on a variety of topics, including distributed audio systems; digital amplifiers; how to select a digital audio network system; RF spectrum update; communications systems for ADA compliance; trends in system commissioning; troubleshooting any audio system; and avoiding post commissioning stress syndrome.
Day Two, for technicians and operators, has been adapted from the traditional RF wireless course to be of particular benefit to worship leaders and technical directors, production managers, front-of-house engineers, monitor/ears mixers and anyone involved in the selection and purchase of technical audio products and systems. The seminar is designed to teach attendees how to plan for trouble-free operation of multi-channel wireless microphones and wireless personal monitoring systems in even the toughest environments. Topics include choosing microphones for any application; operation of wireless transmitters and receivers, antennas and distribution systems; system planning; wireless personal monitoring systems; assisted listening and language translation systems; loudspeakers and understanding source and distributed systems; and how the shift to digital television and new FCC policies may affect wireless microphone users.
Sennheiser is introducing a new pricing structure for 2009, with a registration rate of just $149, including lunch, workshop materials and complimentary giveaways. With paid registration, registrants will also receive a $50 coupon toward the purchase of any Sennheiser product. There is an early-bird discount of $20 off the registration fee for anyone signing up at least two weeks before the seminar date.
