Housed in a rugged, 3U, all-steel chassis, the XLS 5000 is equipped with an efficient forced-air fan to prevent excessive thermal buildup. The front panel sports dual precision-detented rotary level controls, a power switch with accompanying LED, and six additional LEDs indicating signal, clip, and fault for each channel.
AKG WMS 4500
AKG Acoustics is showcasing the recently released wireless WMS 4500 microphone system that offers improved audio capabilities versatile enough to handle multiple users and multichannel applications simultaneously. Like its predecessor, the WMS 4000, the WMS 4500 offers a wide range of available components for operational adaptability and has been modified for greater durability and flexibility with accompanying wireless applications. The WMS 4500 is available in two new frequency bands, Band 7 and Band 8, that offer more options for multichannel systems in today’s crowded RF environment.
Meyer Sound has announced the newest addition to its series of highly focused longrange loudspeakers — the SB-3F soundfield synthesis loudspeaker. Designed for projecting mid- and high-frequency energy over distances up to 1km, the high-powered device employs Meyer Sound’s leading- edge soundfield synthesis technology with multiple small point sources to create a focused, coherent long-range soundfield. Assuring intelligibility at long distances from the main point-source loudspeaker system is one of the most frequent issues in large-scale sound reinforcement, especially in the critical 2 kHz to 9 kHz frequency range.Tyler Truss True Fold Truss
Tyler Truss Systems’ new True Fold Truss (TFT), designed to save space and therefore save money on trucking as well as labor, is now available on a custom order basis. Spigoted for easy assembly and successfully field-tested throughout 2007 and 2008, TFT comes in sizes 20.5 x 20.5 inches to 36 x 42-inches, at lengths of 5, 8, and 10 feet. All sizes fold to a 9-inch width thanks to a patentpending flat-folding design. Users will be able to fit 400 linear feet of 36 x 42 inches TFT in one 22-foot box truck, on wheels, ready to load in and recalled, making it easy to create area patterns to enhance surveillance capabilities.Martin EvenLED
EvenLED solves one of the oldest lighting problems — a perfectly uniformly illuminated background — enabling static or dynamic backgrounds that simply were not possible before. The modular system has many advantages over traditional cyclorama tungsten sources, including greater evenness of field and a longer operational lifetime. Power consumption is also less with less heat generated. EvenLED can be used for sharp silhouettes, color fades, power flashes, drifting shadows, morphing effects, and more. It can also be used for skylines, borders, illuminated floors and walls and is useful in a wide variety of applications such as TV studios, theaters, concerts, and even architecture.JBL Professional EON500 Series
Representing the next generation of its industry-standard EON series portable loudspeakers, JBL has introduced the EON500 series. The unveiling of the EON500 series self-powered and lightweight speakers raises the bar in the category of molded powered loudspeakers in all aspects, from industrial design to sonic performance, integrated utility and portability. There are three models in the new EON product range. Each of the full-range EON500 series compact, lightweight models features an on-board mini-mixer with loop-thru or mix-out capability, allowing for greater control of the loudspeaker’s output.

To help small and medium-sized venues and touring productions get the most from their live sound mixing boards at a reasonable price, Yamaha has introduced the new IM8 series of analog consoles. The eight-bus IM8 series, which fill a large gap in the analog console market, includes the same build-quality and rigorous testing procedures as the successful PM series mixing consoles and will be available in three models with 24, 32, and 40 channels, respectively. All three models inherit technology from Yamaha’s professional consoles and deliver low-noise, intuitive operation. With Yamaha’s single-knob compression feature, operators can dial in the right amount of compression simply and quickly.
TV One 1T-DA-124
TV One’s 1T-DA-124 is actually two separate analog audio distribution amplifiers in one case. It consists of a 1x4 analog stereo distribution amplifier via 3.5mm Mini-Stereo connectors and a 1x4 S/PDIF distribution amplifier via RCA coaxial connectors. Inputs between the two amplifiers do not cross over and there is no analog-digital conversion between the two. The 1T-DA- 124 has an audio bandwidth of 20 Hz to 20 KHz and the signal processing system ensures a low signal-tonoise ratio plus flat equalization curves throughout the bandpass spectrum.
