- L-ACOUSTICS is unveiling the SOUNDVISION Venue Database, which allows audio engineers to simply download venue data from the L-ACOUSTICS website and then immediately incorporate their given speaker configuration in the pre-modeled venue.
- The database consists of SOUNDVISION.SVS room data files that have been organized according to venue name, city and country, the goal of which being to share information among sound designers and L-ACOUSTICS touring engineers in order to save time and obtain more accurate and predictable results with a higher level of overall system performance than was previously possible.
- System design can then be optimized according to the specific venue geometry, allowing the sound designer to fine tune system coverage, stereo imaging and SPL distribution throughout the audience. Physical installation parameters are also determined in advance, allowing for more efficient on-site installation.
- Paul Bauman, L-ACOUSTICS director of technical support, comments, "SOUNDVISION has quickly proven to be an excellent sound design tool with the software prediction and real world result correlating extremely well. Rather than having to enter venue information, L-ACOUSTICS sound engineers will be able to go directly to system design and optimization, which is the fun part! As the SOUNDVISION Venue Database grows, this will become an important asset that ultimately provides added value for L-ACOUSTICS users."
- This venue database will only be accessible to SOUNDVISION software owners. SOUNDVISION is the first 3D sound design program capable of operating in real time and is dedicated to the modeling of L-ACOUSTICS products. Designed with a convenient, intuitive graphical user interface, SOUNDVISION allows for the calculation of sound pressure level (SPL) and coverage mapping for complex sound system or venue configurations.
