- HILLSIDE, NJ--Wireworks Corporation celebrates 35 years as a pioneer in and leading innovator of professional audio/video cabling products and custom panels. Beginning on Broadway and expanding over the past three decades into the broadcast and other markets, Wireworks Corporation designs and manufactures professional cabling products that are now prevalent in theatre, auditorium/arena, education, corporate, government and houses of worship.
- Company founders, Gerald Krulewicz and Larry Williams first recognized the need for professional multi-channel audio products while working in both lighting and sound on Broadway in the early 1970’s. At that time, individual microphone cables were manually bundled together for multiple-microphone cable runs from the stage to front of house. Based on this first-hand experience, Krulewicz and Williams founded Wireworks in 1974 with a mission to provide the highest, most professional quality audio cables to the entertainment field and introduced the first full line of commercially available multi-channel audio cables. Throughout the 1970’s Wireworks continued to create innovative products, including large-scale multi-pin disconnects, the first colored microphone cables as well as a full line of audio and video cable assemblies. In addition, the company established the definitive method of audio cabling which quickly became the Broadway standard that is still specified on new shows today.
- Throughout the 1980’s Wireworks expanded its product lines to include the world's first manufactured combined audio/video multi-cables for broadcast use. The company also introduced its do-it-yourself configuration tool for Wireworks universally adaptable, modular multichannel system, the Microphone Multicable Components Group (MMCG). The Crystal Cathedral, Walt Disney’s Epcot Center, the Reagan/Gorbachev Geneva Summit, Liberty Weekend, the Pan American Games, the Indy 500, the Calgary Winter Olympics and the still running Phantom of the Opera on Broadway are just a few projects that relied upon Wireworks during this decade.
- Throughout the nineties, Wireworks continued to set standards with its innovation and its dedication to providing high-quality products with the personalized service it is still known for today. The company’s newest audio/video multipin system, AV2000, is the only multi-pin connector system that can accommodate audio, video, data, and control signals in a single easy-to-use hybrid connector. During this time, Wireworks received both LDI and EDDY Awards for its cabling products, many of which were incorporated into distinctive installations at the White House, Euro Disney, the Normandy Beach reenactment, The Tonight Show and many others.
- To date, Wireworks has been involved in thousands of installations worldwide. Within the U.S., the average American either hears or sees media content that is transmitted by a Wireworks manufactured cable every day.
- “When talking about cabling, three specific factors must be considered,” says Krulewicz. “It has to do the job it is intended to do, it has to be durable and it has to be easy to use. The last thing a customer should have to worry about is the cabling system. Wireworks is more than happy to provide that assurance. We have made a commitment to continue development of cutting-edge new ways to make the job easier and faster for our users. Innovation, reliability and service have been hallmarks of Wireworks Corporation since the very beginning.”
