Audio for the theater was designed and installed by systems designer Keith Au Yeung of Macostar Hong Kong, in collaboration with Audio Dynamic.
The high-performance system comprises a left-right-center design utilizing three pairs of UPJ-1P VariO loudspeakers, with left and right USW-1P subwoofers supplying low end. Loudspeaker processing and system drive are handled by a Galileo loudspeaker management system using a single Galileo 616 unit. A 40- channel Allen & Heath console is installed at front of house to complete the system.
As Audio Dynamic’s Paul Poon explains, the two companies were called to take over the project midway through the installation phase, and immediately faced significant challenges. “The original design didn’t provide for any frontfill loudspeakers, and it was too late to amend the plans,” says Poon. “We had to address a lack of adequate coverage to the front seating. Using MAPP Online Pro (acoustical prediction program), we were able to overcome the coverage problem by calculating the optimal positioning of the speakers and settings for the Galileo.”
