- The Polycom SoundStructure configuration tools not only save design time for our integration partners but also incorporate Polycom’s best practices for audio designs.
- Polycom’s SoundStructure series, the industry’s first installed audio solution for voice and video conferencing applications delivering truly immersive audio capabilities, earned a patent earlier this month recognizing the innovation and uniqueness of Polycom’s SoundStructure Studio and Conference Composer configuration tools.
- The patent, no. 7,552,389, was granted for the configuration tools that automatically create audio device configurations by simply selecting the numbers and types of inputs and outputs and uses those channel definitions to optimize the remaining parameters of the system.
- How it works
- 1. A computer “wizard” user interface software allows the audio designer to select the desired audio inputs (e.g., microphone, phone lines, video conferencing, etc.) and audio outputs (loudspeakers, recording devices, etc.).
- 2. The wizard then allows the designer to choose the target audio conferencing devices that are presented automatically based on the design or customize the device selection.
- 3. Finally, the wizard automatically allocates the audio inputs and outputs to the physical inputs and outputs on the audio conferencing device and then allows the designer to customize as desired.
- Once the design is completed, the design may be uploaded directly into an audio conferencing device, not only saving design time for our integration partners but also incorporating Polycom’s best practices for audio designs.
