Reflect Systems, a provider of digital signage software and services, has announced that Borders is featuring the ReflectView enterprise digital signage platform in the concept stores it opens this year. The platform allows Borders to deliver engaging digital media content to screens within the stores' Travel, Cooking and Wellness destinations to inform and inspire customers. The network of LCD screens in the destinations complements the stores' other new digital offerings.
The Travel destination screen broadcasts a mix of travel tips, guided visual tours, author interviews, and nature programming from locations around the world, while the screen in the Cooking destination features Borders' original cooking program, "Borders Kitchen" as well as how-to videos and other cooking and entertaining programming. In the Wellness destination, customers can enjoy another Borders' original program, "Advice for Living with Mel Robbins" and view fitness demonstrations and clips on well-known health and wellness books and authors. The screens also feature information on in-store promotions and new releases that specifically relate to the title and merchandise selections within each destination.
Borders chose Reflect Systems based on Reflect's retail experience, collaborative approach and software platform. "We chose Reflect Systems because they offered a total solution. From technology selection and integration to customer engagement, measurement, and content advice, the Reflect team brought us creative solutions and a team approach to success," said Rich Fahle, vice president, Content for Borders Group.
"Our team is excited to be helping Borders successfully deploy this new digital media network in its concept stores," said Matthew Schmitt, CEO of Reflect Systems. "Our feature rich software platform, ReflectView, allows Borders to introduce new and exciting shopper-focused applications, enriching the customer experience and helping Borders achieve its mission of being a headquarters of knowledge and entertainment."
Following a successful pilot phase in the Borders concept store in Ann Arbor, Mich., the new digital media network has been installed in a total of nine concept stores. The additional five stores the retailer will open this year will also feature this technology. Reflect Systems has worked with Pro-Motion to manage deployment and installation services. Pro-Motion connects communicators with their audiences, providing the full spectrum of audio-visual product, design, procurement, shipping, nationwide installation and service.
