DANBURY, CT---Communication Networks of Danbury, Connecticut, doing business as ComNet, has named Andrew Acquarulo Jr., as its president and COO. Acquarulo will be responsible for ComNet’s worldwide strategic vision, operations and sales for the ComNet fiber optic and Ethernet product lines. Acquarulo will report to George Lichtblau, ComNet Chairman and CEO. In his role as ComNet president, Acquarulo will direct all the functional areas of the company with the goal of advancing market share. Andrew came to ComNet from his 20 years as Fiber Optic Business Leader at GE Security and president and COO at what was International Fiber Systems (IFS).
- “Andy is well known and respected within the security industry and his leadership and industry knowledge largely contributed to IFS becoming the acknowledged leader in fiber optic transmission. This success made him the perfect choice to lead ComNet as we move into our next growth phase, “ stated George Lichtblau, ComNet chairman and CEO.
- “Andy has a wealth of knowledge gained from his years of interaction with customers and other manufacturers throughout the industry. He was such a valuable asset to IFS customers and employees and was the first person I hired in the early days of IFS. He understood the responsibilities of the role very well and I knew having someone with his abilities would be a huge asset to a company like ComNet.” Continued Lichtblau.
“I’m very happy and excited to be given this opportunity with such an innovative company such as ComNet. It became evident that transmission technology has really become stagnant. With the transition to Ethernet based transmission over optical fiber, it was evident no company seemed willing to step forward and fill the gap. ComNet was the first company taking a proactive approach to advancing the technology while retaining a strong focus on supporting the customer. George and I created a successful formula with IFS. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to do it again at ComNet. It’s once again exciting to be part of a company like ComNet. The opportunity to build a company from the beginning is what brought me back to the industry,” said Acquarulo on his new role.
