ORLANDO, FL--Christie has announced the launch of two new 1-chip DLP projectors, the Christie DHD700 and the Christie DS+750, at InfoComm 2009 in Orlando, FL. This new generation of single-chip DLP projectors offer an exceptional balance between brightness and superior color, innovative design and reliability for 24/7 applications. Backed by Christie’s renowned service and support, the Christie DHD700 and the Christie DS+750 are ideal for environments that require flexibility, superior DLP presentation and video-image quality.
“The single chip Christie DHD700 and Christie DS+750 are an affordable, high-performance alternative to 3-chip projectors,” says Frank Anzures, product manager for Christie.
It’s no wonder that the full-featured projectors meet the needs of a wide range of markets. For rental and staging customers the Christie DHD700 and the Christie DS+750 offer high-brightness, excellent performance in business presentations and video applications as well as flexibility for venue configuration.
The new projectors are also high-resolution alternatives to XGA and WXGA projectors for fixed installations, government and higher education. The functionality of the Christie DHD700 and the Christie DS+750 projectors make them top choices for multi-image blended displays with 24/7 application requirements or extended use. Houses of worship enjoy the projectors’ high-resolution widescreen display, blended multi-image display options, rich color reproduction and minimal maintenance.
Christie’s new projectors have many key features. The 6500 ANSI lumen Christie DHD700 and 7500 ANSI lumen Christie DS+750 provide unparalleled brightness and image clarity for medium to large venues. They offer a contrast ratio of up to 7500:1 with Dynamic Black. Their 10-bit image processing with DNX Pixel Works video processing delivers flawless image quality, greater color depth for high-bandwidth signals, improved image reproduction with reduced noise and superior decoding, de-interlacing and scaling of video sources.
For compatibility with most computers and video sources both projectors have scaling for VGA to WUXGA and video up to 1080P. The Christie DS+750 has SX+ native resolution, while the Christie DHD700 has full HD 1920x1080 native scaling.
Both Christie projectors offer built-in edge blending and color matching functions for creating a seamless, single display while using an array of projectors. The Picture-in-Picture (PnP) function allows users to project two input signals simultaneously, by placing a separate sub-window within the main input display. This is especially useful to the presenter who needs to focus on the larger, main image and reference the sub-image when needed. The Picture-by-Picture (PbyP) function is useful for video conference applications or when both input signals need to be simultaneously presented in the same size.
The projectors’ innovative user-changeable Rich-Color color wheel allow the systems to easily go from high brightness performance to vibrant rich color performance by simply switching color wheels. It also provides superior color reproduction and flexibility not found in other projectors. Multiple lens options are also available.
Both new projectors have sealed 1-chip DLP light engines for minimal maintenance and 24/7 use. An optional extended use Auto-filter protects internal components from contaminants and extends the life of the lamp and color wheel. The Christie DHD700 and Christie DS+750 feature dual 330W Philips VIDI UHP lamps with an estimated 2000 hours of life in the normal mode and up to 2500 hours in the eco mode.
