- Martin Audio recently opened an elegant showroom in a prestigious shopping district in China.
- The idea was the brainchild of wealthy businessman Regan Goh who owns sound rental/installation company Huifeng Performance Equipment Co.
- As one of Martin Audio’s major customers, he came up with the idea of opening a full demo facility for consultants, production companies, dealers and installers in Panyu, a suburb of Guangzhou.
- Said ambassador for Martin Audio, David Bissett-Powell, “China is the major market for Martin Audio and Huifeng is our main Chinese dealer — so the move makes perfect sense.
- “Regan and I go back a long way, and he has purchased this building with the sole intention of making it Martin Audio — in fact the signage over the large shop window simply states ‘Martin Audio’. Regan also supports King Kong, a leading sound engineer in China, of the Martin Audio Business Development Centre which will be closely linked with this new facility.”
- The move has received the full backing of Patrick Lau, who runs Martin Audio’s Asian office, and Kelvin Hui who runs the Audio Division of Dah Chong Hong, Martin Audio’s distribution company in China, Hong Kong and Macau.
- The new building occupies around 10,000 sq. ft and is set on two floors. Aside from a large demo room and offices it also includes a dedicated karaoke room (a major market segment in China).
- “If anyone within China and South East Asia wants to audition a product, virtually everything is there on demo,” emphasized Bissett-Powell. “Everyone is happy to come to Guangzhou and we would hope that club owners would visit along with their local dealers.”
- The new facility opened in time for Chinese National Day on October 1st — celebrating 60 years since the foundation of the People's Republic of China.
