CHICAGO, IL--Bretford Manufacturing announced that 155 more of its carts, book trucks, tables and accessories are GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI). These latest models, which include the first certified laptop carts, have achieved the GREENGUARD standard for low emitting products and for the Children & SchoolsSM product certification program. Combined with Bretford’s other GREENGUARD-certified products, a total of 243 of its furniture models can now be specified to help commercial facilities achieve Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) points, the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of green buildings.
According to GEI, children in particular spend about 85 percent of their time indoors, where the air is two to five times more polluted than the air outside. Tad Petrick, director of marketing and product development for Bretford Manufacturing, Inc. explained, “This statistic, combined with the increased use of technology in schools, prompted us to focus on certifying more of our laptop and other equipment carts, ranging from some of our earliest models to those introduced as recently as last month.” He continued, “GREENGUARD certification will be ongoing for Bretford, as it is our goal to contribute to the health and safety of our children as effectively as we can. The GREENGUARD designation helps significantly in this process.”
Some of the latest certified cart models are the new NETBOOK32 Micro Computer Laptop cart, designed for lightweight, affordable netbooks, and the Presenter’s Assistant for Learning (PAL) cart, a mobile multimedia station that is small and simple to move, yet durable enough to secure the technology equipment it holds and protect the people using it. Both of these product lines were recently introduced and are available for delivery now.
