- Leaders from the National Systems Contractors Association and InfoComm International have announced a new systems integration training event, NSCA TechWeek, sponsored by InfoComm. The event will take place October 20-24 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas Texas.
- The purpose of TechWeek is to provide educational opportunities in popular applications, including digital signage, professional audiovisual, fire and life safety, access control, and more. The event will feature expert education from NSCA University and the InfoComm Academy , manufacturer training, certification testing, networking opportunities and tabletop exhibits. Classes will run throughout the week and will vary in length from 2 hours to 4 days depending on the subject matter. Table top exhibits will begin on the night of the 21st and end at 4 p.m. on the 23rd and will be closed during the morning class sessions.
- "For years our members have asked for more affordable training for their technicians so a large group of installers can be trained at one time," said NSCA Executive Director Chuck Wilson. "TechWeek addresses those concerns, providing the ideal venue for systems integration firms to train their technicians on a wide variety of technologies at a low cost."
- Product specific manufacturers training will be a major focus of TechWeek. "TechWeek will provide a great platform for manufacturers looking to educate technicians about integrating their products into systems," said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., Executive Director, InfoComm International. "TechWeek will not be a tradeshow, but will provide an excellent forum for members of the commercial AV community to come together for training and professional development."
- This new education program is part of the InfoComm and NSCA cooperative venture that also incorporates the NSCA Systems Integration Expo into the June 14-20 InfoComm International trade show. During TechWeek NSCA will be responsible for the provision of its education program and InfoComm, in addition to providing its education programs, will be responsible for all other aspects of the event including registration, the table top exhibits, housing, and other services to the attendees and manufacturers.
- Registration for the NSCA TechWeek, sponsored by InfoComm, will begin in July 2008. Companies interested in providing manufacturers training, sponsorship opportunities and table top exhibit space should contact Mike Doolittle, CTS, InfoComm Director of Exposition Sales at 800.659.7469 ext. 3050.
