- GREENVILLE, IN--Synergetic Audio Concepts (SynAudCon) will present "Audio And Acoustic For Conference Systems" in Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 16-18. The one-time event will provide attendees with an organized approach to the design and commissioning of audio conferencing systems, with attention paid to the interrelated issues of architectural acoustics and noise associated with conferencing venues.
- "Audio and video conferencing systems are only deemed successful if they are easy to use, reliable, and capable of providing clean and intelligible communication between connected parties," explains Pat Brown, president of SynAudCon. "Unfortunately, many systems fall short at this effort due to a variety of factors. This workshop will shed some light on the issues as well as provide possible solutions to the problem."
- Jay Paul (CTS), vice president with integrator AVI-SPL in Columbia, MD, Mario Maltese (CTS-D, CTS-I), CEO, Audio Visual Resources, Inc., Williston Park, NY and Russ Berger, president of Russ Berger Design Group, Dallas, TX will provide instruction throughout the workshop.
- Design principles will be demonstrated in simulated conference rooms using equipment provided by a variety of manufacturers. Extensive attention will be paid to the correct use and adjustment of echo canceling mixers with real world demonstration.
- Additional subjects covered during the 3-day workshop include microphone selection and placement for a conference room system; predicting and increasing the acoustic gain of a system; integrating a conference system with the room's sound reinforcement system; practical design criteria with regard to acoustics, noise control, and sound isolation; and designing, documenting, constructing, outfitting, and commissioning a conference space.
- SynAudCon's will host the "Synergy Room" at Don Hall Guest House in Fort Wayne on Thursday evening, to allow attendees the opportunity to connect with other industry professionals. Friday evening will feature a panel discussion with manufacturers for questions and discussing the use of their products.
