- Scala, a provider of end-to-end solutions for the digital signage and advertising management markets, has announced that it finished its third quarter, ending Sep 30, 2008, on a high note. With September having generated the highest sales month of the year and the recent announcement of a new sales and development office located in Bangalore, India — the company is making considerable progress in its ongoing, aggressive growth agenda.
- The Company also saw a record attendance at both its American and European Annual Connected Signage Conferences, The new Digital Dasher board at Staples Center. DIGITAL SIGNAGE MAGAZINE [11] during which it announced an exciting new release of its software that will ship before the end of the year.
Amongst other exciting new features and enhancements, this new release also marks the first level of integration between Scala’s industry leading digital signage product and Scala Ad Manager, the product obtained through the acquisition of MISC, now Scala Canada, in April 2008.
While it is likely that the core market of digital signage solutions will be affected by the general economic turmoil, Scala is in a solid position to weather adverse conditions. Not only is it an entrenched provider of digital signage with 20+ years of experience in the market, it has a strong balance sheet with no debt and significant working capital and reserves, is completely self-funded (which it has been since 2002) and its global network of 450 partners is positioned to take advantage of opportunities in many geographies and vertical markets as they arise.
Anthony Maddalone, CFO at Scala, commented, “While none of this is any reason to sit on our laurels, it is gratifying in these challenging economic times to be able to report some good news. We are pleased to welcome many new Scala customers to our portfolio in Q3 including Infiniti, Miele, Statoil, Showcase Cinemas, Sidewalk Express, Gruppo Maiorana, Johns Hopkins University, KPN Narrowcasting, the BZ WBK Bank, Immedia Communications, Alpha Japan, Telecom Italia, Sanofi Aventis (Mexico) and many other well known organizations. In addition, we are pleased to see during Q3/2008 a substantial expansion in usage of Scala software by our extensive and prestigious client base, such as The Life Channel, Audi, Hitachi, Vanten, Rabobank, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Fastsigns, Monopoly Media, Citroen PSA, Specialized Software Service, Captivate Media, Baptist Health Systems, Krystal Restaurants, and many others.”
