- BEAVERTON, OR--Biamp Systems announced that Steve Metzger is now president of the company. He follows Ralph Lockhart who retired last month after 25 years as president.
- In a recent note, Metzger congratulated Lockhart on his retirement, and praised him, saying, "The people within Biamp can't provide a thank you that measures up to your contributions to the success of the company, but we promise to build on the foundation established under your leadership."
- Metzger joined Biamp in 2000. For the past two years, he served as Biamp's vice president of business development. In that role he was responsible for the exploration of new partnerships, alliances, and expanded business opportunities, including the acquisition of Creative Audio in Brisbane Australia in 2008. He was also responsible for the development of the product management group, and managed the training and education group and programs for the company.
- Prior to his role as vice president, Metzger was business development manager and served as a regional manager, with responsibility for Biamp's sales operations in the Southeast region of the U.S.
- "Steve is a perfect fit as the next Biamp president," said Norm Kidder, on behalf of the company's board of directors. "He's been a key member of the leadership team; he has extensive knowledge of the industry; and a strong connection to the employees and the Biamp culture. The company will continue to do well in his very capable hands."
- "I am excited and humbled to be asked to lead this great company," said Metzger. "Biamp is well positioned for continued leadership in the commercial audio market worldwide, which is a testament to the quality of our organization and our customers. Biamp has a bright future, and I can't think of a place I would rather be."
