PLEASANTON, CA-- Polycom Global Services is delivering new service and support programs to aid enterprises as they move to high definition and on demand or instantaneous conferencing using voice, video, and sharing content. Offered through Polycom channel partners, these programs help companies leverage investments already made in existing hardware and software, while using best practices to help them upgrade to next generation collaboration systems that span the desktop to the conference room to mobile devices.
The new High Definition (HD) Readiness program facilitates the process of moving ISDN or IP conferencing networks to support high definition video conferencing. A project manager is assigned to work either remotely or on-site with the channel and customer to assess quality of service, bandwidth and call quality of the existing network. Once HD-readiness analysis is completed, the project manager will recommend corrective actions if required, then provide the customer with a proposal to install and test the necessary additions and corrections based on best practices. A new Single Path IP Network Assessment service provides testing and metrics around VoIP performance, conferencing or general network issues, enabling remote troubleshooting to pinpoint and correct issues with single segments of the network. This service saves companies time and money by identifying and then correcting only those segments where issues exist and not the whole network.
The new On Demand Conferencing Services support customers moving from IT-scheduled conferencing applications to end-user-initiated, reservationless, or instantaneous, conferencing. This on-site service scopes the anticipated changes, timeline and costs of the project; validates the network design and deploys field engineers to deliver a unified conferencing environment; and trains the IT staff on use and operations. The service integrates all Polycom solutions, presence-based and call management backbone communications infrastructures, and competitive conferencing products onto a single network for voice and video conferencing, IM, and email. On Demand Conferencing Services is the industry's only comprehensive, multi-vendor integration service that increases conference network efficiency while maximizing investment in existing hardware and software -and in many cases, providing a single point of contact for all systems.
