MONTREAL, CANDA--X2O Media has partnered with NetStreamsTM, the global leader in IP-based audio and video networks, to provide a unique solution in digital signage distribution. By integrating NetStreams' DigiLinX IP-based audio and video distribution solution with X2O Media's patented Xpresenter digital signage platform, the two companies have enabled centralized distribution of high-quality digital signage content to a vast number of displays within a corporate, retail, or public entertainment setting. The technology integration will be on display at the NetStreams InfoComm 2008 booth, N5012, at the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 18–20.
"Our partnership with X2O Media is allowing us to bring together the top digital signage solution with our premier audio/video distribution system. Together we can create high-quality, very large-scale multimedia signage installations for our customers," said Sanjay Castelino, NetStreams' VP of marketing and business development. "The product integration is ideal for any company that wants to distribute a dynamic digital signage channel to dozens of displays throughout a facility, whether it's a stadium, casino, convention center, retail store, or even a corporation with displays in the lobby, boardroom, and beyond."
The integrated system begins with the Xpresenter 2.1 digital signage platform, on which users will produce broadcast-quality graphics that incorporate animations, video clips, and automatically updating real-time data sources - all without ever leaving the Microsoft PowerPoint interface. With Xpresenter's gallery of professionally designed graphics templates, the user can produce compelling presentations containing live information for any type of visual display, with a fraction of the effort required by other systems.
Once the content is created, the user can rely on the NetStreams DigiLinX family of products, including the new commercial MediaLinX A/V multimedia encoder and commercial ViewLinX multimedia decoder being introduced at this year's InfoComm exhibition, to switch between video sources, control various sources and displays, and even transcode sources that arrive in various video formats. The NetStreams system then distributes uncompressed high-definition content via IP to any number of displays on the network. In addition to distributing digital signage content, the DigiLinX suite also can route any other source - such as live news broadcasts or camera feeds from remote offices - for playout on the displays.
"Both X2O Media and NetStreams are heavily invested in enabling our customers to deliver only the highest quality output, so our technologies are very complementary. By adding IP distribution to our system, we're allowing customers to scale their digital signage networks to virtually any size they desire. Plus, they get the added benefits of leveraging their existing infrastructure investments and being able to control their solution from any point on the network," said David Wilkins, X2O Media's president and CEO. "We've very excited to undertake this partnership with NetStreams and will continue to work closely with the company to pioneer new functionality for digital signage."
