Netkey, a global provider of solutions for self-service kiosks and digital signage, has won the Fiondella Milone LaSaracina “Deal of the Year” Award at the second annual Innovation Pipeline Awards and Technology Showcase held in Norwalk, Conn. Netkey was also named by the Connecticut Technology Council as one of 100 technology “companies to watch” for 2008.
The Connecticut Technology Council (CTC), the state’s industry association for the technology sector, annually recognizes companies with an innovative product and a business model that demonstrates potential for future success.
“The companies recognized here are the ones we feel are not only the most exciting but also have a real chance for rapid growth,” said Matthew Nemerson, president and CEO of the CTC.
The Deal of the Year award was presented in recognition of Netkey’s acquisition of Alpharetta, Ga.-based Webpavement, one of the pioneers in the development of software to manage networks of digital displays. The transaction has propelled Netkey to a leadership position in the fast-growing digital signage marketplace, expected to exceed $2.5 billion by 2011 according to analyst estimates. Netkey digital signage software is used by hundreds of organizations worldwide including Clear Channel, Kellogg’s, Pfizer, the University of Houston and the United Nations.
The awards are the result of a nomination and judging process that engages dozens of technology leaders from corporations such as Pitney Bowes, GE, UTC and Open Solutions and firms such as law firms Cantor Colburn, LLP, Edwards Angell Palmer and Dodge, LLP and the accounting firm Fiondella, Milone, and Lasaracina.
“This is a great honor and we appreciate being recognized for the hard work and success we have achieved,” said V. Miller Newton, chief executive officer of Netkey. “These awards are the result of the efforts and professionalism of our employees and the value the Netkey solution brings to our customers.”
