TV One President and CEO David K. Barnes have announced that Dan Gibson has been named as the company's new Vice President. Gibson will guide all North American operations from Point Barrow to Cape Horn, including sales. CEO Barnes, who currently divides his time between TV One world headquarters in Kentucky and TV One Europe's office and manufacturing facility in Margate, Kent, England, will continue to play an active role in overseeing matters throughout the Americas, but at this point has officially turned the helm over to Gibson in terms of the management of day-to-day affairs.
"I have full confidence in Dan's ability to take charge," Barnes said shortly after the appointment was made official. "Over the course of his career, he has gained a large measure of knowledge and experience making him ideally suited for the job. All of us at TV One place our trust in his leadership without any reservations."
Gibson has been with TV One since 1998, when he began serving the firm's accounting department. Moving from the company's financial side to sales, he occupied the US National Sales Manager post until his promotion to VP. Prior to his association with TV One, he spent 10 years with Cincinnati, OH-based utility giant Cinergy Corporation as a financial analyst. He holds an MBA from Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, KY.
"It's an exciting time for me personally as well as for the company," Gibson said. "A total of 25 new products are slated for introduction within coming months, many of which will employ our new CORIO and CORIO2 video conversion technologies. We have much to offer within the marketplaceI really feel the time for us has come to make a significant impact upon the industry."
